Larry Woodard Golf
(914) 319-0279

Larry was born and raised in Stuart, Florida. His father was a flower farmer who had a real passion for golf. Even though Larry's father didn't play golf until he was 24, Mr. Rinker inspired his three children to
go on and play golf at the highest level. The Rinker's were considered Florida's first "golfing" family. Larry's father was voted golf father of the year in Golfweek Magazine 1986 after Laurie and Larry won the Mixed Team Classic a year before in 1985.
After graduating from the University of Florida in 1979 with a BSBA in finanace, Larry turned pro and began playing in mini-tours. In 1980, Larry won six tournaments and was voted mini-tour player of the year by Golfweek Magazine. In 1981, Larry qualified to play on the TOUR along with some of the best including Payne Stewart, Denis Watson, Clarence Rose and Mark Calcavecchia. By the end of the TOUR Larry was #132 on the money list.
In 1984, Larry finished second at New Orleans and became #60 on the money list (the old standard for TOUR qualifying exemption in 1982). Larry then went on to make the top 125 the next ten years and 12 times overall. His best year was in 1985 when Larry finished #30 on the money list, had sex top tens, and led the TOUR in eagles. Larry never walked away with an actual first place finish but he is only 1 of 3 players to have played in more than 500 tournaments without a win.
